I wait impatiently every year for the Mirabelle plums to arrive. The taste and smell of this fruit are irresistible. Last year I bought a bit too much fruit, and in order not to have to throw it away, I quickly made two glasses of Mirabelle jam. It was soooooo delicious, pure summer in a bottle. So the next day I went back to the store and bought 3 kg of Mirabelle again. The secret ingredient in the jam is the Mirabelle Liqueur. You do not have to add Mirabelle brandy to the jam, but you will definitely not regret it if you do. It gives the jam a very unexpected twist. I especially like it with baked Camembert, any kind of biscuits and pastries, all in all, with just about anything. It is season again, time to fill the pantry with fresh Mirabelle jam.
