Classic Bruschetta with Basil Pesto

We have just returned from Italy and I’m still running on Italian food. Although tomatoes are not among my favorite vegetables, I find them wonderful, mixed with garlic and basil, served -of course- with a slice of fine toast. When it comes to bread, I know exactly who to turn to for advice.

Of course, Katharina from Besondersgut knew exactly which bread is the best companion for my basil cashew pesto and she was once again right on spot. This so-called “Worker’s bread” tastes so great that I’m going to stay on the “Bruschetta” diet for the next couple of days!
